OUGD603 - Brief 07 - Chicken Wingdings Brief

Brief

Create a wingding typeface around the concept of chicken wings. Informed by the initial proposal of ‘Chicken Wingdings’ as an entry into Typo Gateaux, create a typeface using the forms and structure of chicken wings. The typeface should include a full alphabet, numbers and appropriate punctuation - the typeface could also include multiple families

Consider legibility and the potential impact of this during the creation of the letterforms. Consider accessibility to the typeface, and potential users and audiences. Consider potential functions for the typeface - could it be used as part of a branding scheme, or will it be purely decorative

Collaboration with George Wilson

At this point a tutor feedback session was used to critique our concept and approach to the creation of the alphabet. It was concluded that creating chicken wing shapes that more closely resemble traditional letterforms, rather than miscellaneous shapes, would create a more effective typeface.
