To ensure cohesion between the publication and the Concorde metro station, and consistency throughout the publication itself, the typeface Garamond BE Regular will be the primary typeface used for the majority of the copy and headline text. It is the original typeface used throughout the design of the station. Garamond BE Regular is a classic serif typeface, dating back to the 16th century. Its solid yet versatile letterforms portray unique characteristics, such as the un-connected bowl featured on the letter ‘P’, and the overhanging serifs featured on the letter ’S’. Its distinctive forms and high legibility makes it an eminently suitable typeface for use within the publication.
A secondary typeface will also be used to highlight certain key pieces of text and to distinguish between text in French and text in English. For this the most appropriate typeface is Garamond BE Italic.
